Electronic Arts today announced another sequel to the famous Command and Conquer series. Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars will pit the good Global Defense Initiative against the evil Brotherhood of NOD once again. The real-time strategy game will be set in a future Earth where Tiberium, radioactive crystals, have spread to most of the globe.
The GDI want to keep the toxic Tiberium from spreading, but the Brotherhood of Nod's want to control it. The new game will have native VoIP support, something players have usually had to set up themselves with programs like Teamspeak or Ventrillo. There will also be a spectator mode that lets users watch the game like a sport event.
An image of the game was leaked to game magazines a few days ago, which apparently forced EA Games to release an official announcement. The game is expected to ship in 2007 and will be available for PCs only.
