Been using a Clip for past 2 years, battery was fine lasting around 5 days or so(~2 hours a day) on a single charge using a pair of cheap panasonic earphones.
Got a Philips SHE9800 about a year back and i think i started noticing the battery life going down.Is that possible?
Tested it by running it continuous at 50% volume and it came for 11 hours and 30 minutes.
But when i use it on the bus at around 85% volume it lasts for max 5 or 6 hours.
So,is it the earphones?
Also, will an amp like the E5 help in improving the battery life?

It probably is. Earphones have impedance ratings, the higher the rating, the more power the player has to use up to maintain the same volume level.

official spec sheet shows impedance of 16 ohm at 1kHz...no idea what any of it means :-P
