Hi

2 weeks ago i bought an iphone off ebay.com and it was shipped to me in India. I received it in the condition mentioned in the description.
I didnt leave feedback yet (coz i was busy)
[Seller had 1660 feedback with a 99.3% positive rating]

Yesterday, i got an email from ebay.com that the seller wanted to cancel the transaction. Along with it, he'd sent a message

"I've just sent this request through eBay. Please agree, you may take 10% off your next purchase."

What does this mean?
What does cancelling a transaction supposed to imply? for me and for the seller?
Is the seller trying to achieve some ulterior motive by cancelling the transaction?

Any info would be welcome :)

Update: Yesterday, i checked and saw he still had many high-value gadgets on sale. Now, when i check, he has no items for sale.

Just speak to ebay.com representatives he must have left as dealer and most probably they though you might have not go the product.

Am trying on that front. Could someone get me a direct email id to ebay.com cc?
Going through Ebay's Contact Us maze is frustrating if your issue is not mentioned tehre :@

From what it looks like, this guy is trying to make money which he would otherwise pay eBay as the transaction charges. If you click yes, it never happened and he do not get to pay any money to eBay which would be a good amount as the product was of a high value.

I would advice you to click No and steer clear.

call the dealer and ask him the exact problem...may b hez run out of stock...second thing would be he must have realized that he is selling at lower price...so he wants to cancel the deal...in that case u simple dont cancel n force him to send u ur iphone...

then go ahead...cancel the deal...the seller will save his 6-8% ebay transaction fee...U can ask for 3-4% as ur share :cool2::D

^^how will he save money? if he cancel's the money will be refunded by eBay.

just say no and leave feedback and get over with it.

The ebay contact us page has a section called "Need more help?" on the right. Click on Email Us and you will be able to directly mail them with your complaints.

Your best option is to contact ebay directly and tell them everything and ask for their advice as to how to proceed.

I think money must have already reached the seller....thats y he asked to cancel the deal...i dealt with a similar dealer abt 3-4yrs back...I got a mobile from him...after getting the mobile ...he asked to cancel the deal...and he saved 8% fee...gave me better china mobile instead of the one shown in webite :)

Thanks for the info on the transaction charges et al guys.

@logistopath: I'm trying that, but you'll have to enter all details of the transaction, and since there is no path present which is similar to my case, i cant get forward. if i do using another path, it says Contact Seller. there is no direct email id for ebay CC !
