you might be looking at grey market stuff which does not have official warranty and usually dealers who say they provide some period as warranty from their side backout later on.
Do check that the seller and the product are genuine

Of course they cost less in most of the cases besides you can use a voucher to get further discount. And YES there are chances of getting duped on ebay too so deal with a guy who has more feedback and good reputation.

I wanted to know why do the items cost cheaper....like is there any particular reason for that...???
Some items are marked with a new,box pack tag.Are those items same as the new products that we buy from the stores.....If yes then why are they cheaper...???

well, i have rarely found branded stuff with bill cheaper on ebay. ebay charges about 7% cost to the seller, so the seller will add this before listing it.
but then,10% ebay coupons you get a lot, so cost comes down. another thing to remember is ebay seller is buying the stuff mostly from bigger cites and at times they are directly getting the stuff from distributors and selling.
whereas a local seller in smaller cities might be getting it through a longer supply chain. and yes, as his sales will be less he will tend to try to earn more on the product than a volume based guy, who doesnt depend on his margin on a single product, but on the no of pieces he can sell.

On ebay, you dont even need to have a website of your own. You just need to pay 4% paisapay fees and 1% ebay fees making it 5-6%.

My own observation is that for majority of the stuff, ebay India is more expensive than buying it from a store. Even if you consider cheap, no warranty Chinese imports, you can still find some stores that will sell it cheaper than on ebay. As someone else pointed out, this should not be so because overheads on ebay will be far lower than a brick and mortar establishment. But it is a fact.
When you compare prices, you will have to compare apples to apples. Compare an identical product with an identical warranty.
The only exception to all I have written above is the ebay "deal of the week". These are the only offerings where you potentially have lower prices than stores. I am convinced that there is a ebay subsidy on those offers.
If anyone has examined the latest(current) discount vouchers from ebay he would notice that ebay has exempted the deal of the week for applicability of these vouchers.

I have a particular listing canon A480 digital camera is costing around rs. 5500 whereas same camera at market is for rs. 8000....the diffence is not minor...thats why..it suspets the buyers to buy items from ebay.

And yes the products are genuine. Ebay bears the cost of providing it at such a lower cost, where they even provide free shipping and EMI payment option. I recently bought ACER 4736Z online for 26,000 with 3GB RAM, 320 GB hard drive. This is the best we can get anywhere. Vijay Sales was giving it for 32,000/- so that was a good deal.
You just need to keep your ears and eyes open for such deals. They also occasionally send discount vouchers which further lowers the cost. There is no catch, they are a Giant in this business and want to grow in india. They organize various seminars helping people to sell and buy online. Advocating the benefits for the same etc.
