EDGE not working after upgrading to 3.0

Im using a 2G iPhone and EDGE used to work perfectly when I was on 2.2.1.

Since the time I've updated to 3.0 EDGE has stopped working completely.

I changed the APN to www and am on the Vodafone Mobile Connect 249 plan.

I used the same simcard on another Nokia and am able to browse on that phone.
Any ideas ?
