We are vegetarian.. but since doctor suggested to have boiled egg (without yolk in daily meals) looking for
Induction and egg boiler.. only myself and teenager shall be using this, so want to avoid lot of cleaning hassles.
Might make omlette or egg burji occasionally (but boiled eggs daily)

What is the reason though? Depending on the reason you could also consider egg protein powder, egg whites powder, or packaged egg whites. Will cost more than eggs but be more convenient especially if you don't want to deal with eggs.

Anyway egg boilers very simple machines and you can find plenty on amazon. They plug in directly, no induction required.

I bought this , is a dual purpose can be used as a kettle as well as boil eggs and is working well for me.

Thanks was looking for something like this. I saw some equipments those also allowed making omelette. Some reviews said if egg bursts sometimes in machine, it's a pain to clean and produces very bad smell?
Simply use a aluminum bowl, ensure all eggs are covered with water and keep boiling for 5 minutes once boiling starts (reduced flame). No machine required.
A device which can gauge time will be more helpful.

Buy something like that Kent egg boiler posted earlier. There can't be anything more simpler than those steamers. They switch off on their own and you don't have to add any more side-tasks (timers, okay google and the stuff) to an already simple task.

You may run across cracked eggs in this steamer once in a while but they are still edible as only the egg whites ooze out a bit. Eggs shells are delicate and they do crack occasionally in every other vessel when boiling them.

Because rest of the folks won't eat eggs, get a separate pan for making omelettes etc on gas stove.

Egg boilers are very simple machines. They have a heating element and an old school thermostat. That's all. So most of them will work fine.

Don't waste money on the Kent one, they are the same machine with a kent sticker. There's no additional quality controls, they just double the price because they're a known brand.

It's very convenient as I can just switch it on and go brush my teeth and do my morning chores. Don't have to monitor it or wait for the water to come to boil, etc. It will switch off automatically when the water dries up.

Make sure your eggs are at room temperature when you put them in. Most of the time they won't break (also depends on the quality of the egg though). If nothing breaks, then you can clean it once a week and that will be good enough.

Kent model has three boiling modes. Soft, medium & hard.

I'm guessing yours defaults to hard and anything else requires manual intervention.

It only does hard boiled

Funny thing with boiled eggs is older is better. A week sat in the fridge hard boils better than fresh. Usually doesn't crack and peels easier.

I just leave it twenty minutes on medium flame. Then cool them over a tap and transfer to a cold water to make removing the shell easier.
 
D mart has one, where you can make up to 7 eggs at once I guess. Once you have cooked them, you can store the unpeeled (Or peeled eggs) in freezer for upto a week.

The D-mart one has a plate and you have to fill water to a line. The eggs are not immersed - instead the water is steamed and that's what cooks the egg. You put in enough water, and once it is all evaporated it turns off.

ALSO, personally, I would recommened to spend a little extra and try to get brown eggs. In our experience, the white egg cracks very easily when bioling in an aluminium bowl (Almost 20-40% of time, while brown eggs are under 5%. I noticed this during my stay in Sweden as well lol). Or just get the regular white ones as you won't be consuming the yolk (But I strongly suggest you try it out). They all work on same principle and are chinese, so buy the cheapest one that looks appealing to you.

I have a rectangular, 8-eggs model from Borosil. I got this one because:
a) its brushed steel finish was matching with other appliances in my kitchen
b) its rectangular design is easier to store

There are no such modes in any of these steamers. No timer either. Steaming time depends on the amount of water you put in them. So, more water = hard boiled eggs.

This is due to increase in pressure; pierce with a pin on top before steaming/boiling.

Of course! These steamers are sold with a piercing needle. But eggs are going to crack once in a while as they are... delicate.

Why discard the yolk and only consume the whites? The yolk has so much nutrition that you are going to miss out on.

I have never seen boiling eggs become such a complex topic. I do own the Kent model and I use it only because it is quick and convenient but my wife has hidden it away from my sight due to kitchen real estate issues.

As all you care for is the white, you shouldn't worry about how hard or soft the yolk is. All that you need is to submerge the eggs in a bowl of water and let it cook for 8 to 12 minutes. Soon you will get the hang of it. All these fancy gadgets are just a waste of money.
