Just curious, what's wrong with the 360 controller? I've been using it for a couple of months and i coudn't be happier with it.

@OP
You can get several imitation PS controllers for the PC if you scout around lamington road, they will last you for atleast 6-8 months and cost under 500 INR.

Yeah well depending on how seriously your gonna be taking the game, the 360 controller is a big no with serious sf4 players.

Because the sticks are crap and the buttons just don't cut it.

:O
Well, im pretty satisfied with it, the sticks and the buttons.
I thought you were going to say it's because of the triggers. Even so, i really have nothing else to compare to, so maybe that's why i don't see what you're on about, this is more or less the best/only controller i've used for the PC, and i don't see myself wanting for anything more, maybe things will change once i try playing SF on it? :)

well dude i have ahem version right now i have posted some screenies in the scrren shot section gonna get the original one once it arrives here in chennai the game RULEZZZZ

the game looks crsp and clear its like the ultimate fighting game for the pc

so now i am confused is it ok to get a 500rs controller??? is it even availlable?

Actually I use these cheap controllers only. They work really well.Go for Quantum gamepad that has analog sticks. It costs about 250 rs and is very suitable for all kind of games.

Its just a starters myth that XBOX 360 Controllers are not meant for button mashing and long hour gaming like Street Fighter 4. I have a XBOX Controller and been using in pretty much every game that supports them and i play almost 12 o 16 hours a day coz my exams have finished.... You cannot give a controller a serious test than 16 hour a day 7 days a week play of Wolverine, Smackdown Vs Raw 2009(i play it using PCSX2),POP2008,Waned and Gears of War. Even i had doubts bout it coz when i first time started playing, it felt bigger and heavier than PS2 controller which we all are used too. But i got accustomed within a few hours and since then it is a dream come true for a gamer like me.

XBOX Controlle's Plus points over PS2 Controller:

*Very comfy design, fits very well in the hand.

*Placement of left analog stick is better that PS2 controller. In PS2 controller your left thumb had to reach for the left analog stick which you never feel when you start playing, but after long hours of gaming, your thumb joints would start having pains etc. But in XBOX controller, the left analog stick is placed such that the left thumb remains in its natural position even after holding the stick.

*Face buttons have plastic covering over them so they wont fade after a year or so like PS2 controller

*Almost every game supports them by default so they are plug and play. No hassle of installing drivers etc.(I use vista which has its drivers inbuilt but in xp i had to install drivers manually from disc)

Finally, just get a Xbox controller man. It cost like 1300 in market while a local controller cost RS500 which is unusable after 3 or 4 months(their analog sticks are made of hard plastic which would eventually break and once they broke, you are screwed). I broke 3 Local controllers in 6 months before getting this and since then it's a smooth ride.

+1
I've had roughly 20 hours of playing Prototype in the last 3 days, involves tons of mashing if you're gonna use combos/keep flying on rooftops.
Before that, many hours of GRID and GTR Evolution.

Not an expert on controllers or whatever but everything seems fine and my hands don't hurt, so i really don't see how it can get any better.

Seriously man, I agree that u either get the Xbox Controller or the PS controller...both are good. It depends on your choice of grip and button placement.

I went to Lam rd Yest for precisely the same thing. Settled on a Xbox 360 while 500 and 1000 rs options were limited to zebronics and Logitec.

And Oh yeah...SF4 Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

err it's not about button mashing. it's just that 2 button layouts suck for street fighter and other fighting games. this is something you'll understand only if you really get into the game but i'll try to give you some of the simple reasons.

many characters in Street Fighter 4 require you to press all 3 buttons at the same time. this is annoyingly painful to do with 2 buttons on the face of the pad and the 3rd on top. some characters like Balrog even require you to hold these keypresses for a certain amount of time.

then there's something called "piano input". street fighter 2 recognizes both the press of the key as well as the release of the same key as 2 different inputs. when you're attempting a reversal, you only have a window of a few milliseconds to get these inputs off. this is very very hard to do by just pressing one button. so people do this piano input where they kinda roll their fingers across a row of buttons to register SIX DIFFERENT keypresses (Press A, Release A, Press B, Release B, Press C, Release C). On a pad like the Sega Saturn's you swipe your thumb across the top row to do this. Virtually impossible to do when you have your buttons all over the place.

i could go on but it won't make much sense unless you understand the intricacies of the game so i'll stop here.

sure the PS2 and Xbox pads are good enough for casual sessions but when you're paying that much, you might as well pay another 200 rupees and pick up the right equipment.

the ultimate fighting game for the PC is Super Street Fighter II Turbo emulated using GGPO.
