Need an entire rig for my dad's office; As cheap as possible. (~15k)

Don't mind picking up used components in case anyone's got any for sale..

CPU: E2160 - 2750

Motherboard(onboard graphics): Biostar GF7050 - 2250

UPS: leave aside

Speakers: Altec 2.1 for those good times at work - 1200

Keyboard+Mouse: Logitech Generic Set / Microsoft Generic Set - 800

Optical Drive: LG / Samsung DVD RW - 1100

Cabinet+SMPS: Circle Cabinet - 1000 + VIP 400W - 550

HDD: NA

with the 2 leave asides everything comes to approx - 9550

so now :

ups : powersafe 600VA - 2000

monitor : as per budget we have 3000 remaining.

options -

1) new 15" for approx 3500 ( 500 rs. overshoot) ~ 'not recommended'

2) TE market will get u 17" CRT's in good / warranty condition in that budget

3) new 17" CRT samsung ( with 3 yrs peace of mind ) for approx 4500 ( 1500rs. overshoot )

can cut down on those speaker part , something generic for 600-700 buks , however would advise least a 2.1 setup

can add 300 rs. more and be secure about the dvdrw if there is a lot of burning the writer is going to do , can go for the Asus LiteScrub 20x model which is highly recommended by everyone here - however a word of caution : Rashi is the warranty provider. For usual burning the LG is total VFM and works well and silent as well......

on the amd front , everything stays the same except....

CPU: Athlon X2 4000+ - 2700

Motherboard(onboard graphics): Jetway 690G-GDG - 2550

totals to : 5250 ( thats : 250 costly than the intel setup )

with x2+17" comes to 16950/-

why exactly he needs the speakers for an 'office' rig is still the unknown quantity.. i would recommend saving the lil cash that can be saved on the speakers...

@keane.. rates given by me are as taken from deltapage+itwares,, you could get the whole rig for abt 500-750 cheaper that that i reckon...
 
yeah, i dont think a 2.1 speaker set is necessary for the office - get a SBS245/Generic Intex/iBall speakers (400-600) and be done with it - reasonable enough for any sounds that come out of an office PC. Use the 600 odd saved to get the 17"

Stalker, is the Athlon LE 1600+ better than a 3200+ ? And does the Jetway 690G have onboard graphics?
 
heard that prices have gone up a wee bit.. i think its for arnd 2.5k.. you can even look at the celly D's... ask gannu abt that.. he has one.. they come for even cheaper.

jus checked deltapage.. celly 1.6g is for 1650. should be more than enough for office usage.

This is not a Cheap PC, but will run all the present day office Applications.
