Emails sync issue on my android phone and office outlook

Ok so just configured my office pop3 email on my Xperia Z3.

The problem is I receive emails but all received mails are already Marked as Read.

Configured another one and somehow did some stuff and now receive normal emails without marking the Unread ones as read.

The main issues is: When I return to my office the next day, all read emails from my phone are still shown unread in my office computers outlook 2016.

I want a live sync. That when I mark an email as read then it should be marked as read in my office outlook as well.

We use office365 in my office environment.

I even tried using MS Outlook mail app but same issue.

I hope many of you must be corporate users and using this exact scenario. So how you go about it?

I tried configuring email on pop3, exchange and mapi as well but same result.
 
Why wouldnt you use Exchange Services over POP3? Exchange works much better and if you have the updated GMail app, you can add the account from within it.
 
As a person who has setup, configured and used IMAP, POP3 and Exchange :

IMAP is what you use if you want to sync both sent and recieved emails + syncs what you read and un-read across devices. This also includes flags. Cons are increased data usage.

POP3 is what you use if you just want a copy of the recived emails without caring whether you have read/unread it. Cons are it does not sync read/unread status/

Exchange is sorta like IMAP with some extra bells and whistles for Outlook.

So, in your case, please use IMAP and it should do the job. However, you may prefer using the Outlook app with Exchange assuming you have the same.
