hi to all

i am posting this on this section as its requires port forwarding
main reason for port forwarding is i am going to play online on xbox.

no i have some confusion.
i will be buying a new airtel broadband plan 2222
in which airtel has given me option either modem/router.
both will be from beetel which new model dont have port forwarding

now i planned to buy a extra router netgear which have option for portforwarding..

my question is that airtel person who will come to my home will do setting for beetel modem/router

so how should i connect that to my netgear router...
after connection how can i change the setting in netgear router of mine if primary router will be beetel.

also i plan to connect switch with router and then with 6 xbox.........so do i need to specify xbox ip address also do i need to mention those ip address in netgear config menu..which comes by typing computer ip address

also do i need to make static ip address

thanks
watiing for reply

Can you provide the model number of router/modem.

How did you conclude that it does not have port forwarding?

Also its highly unlikely that port forwarding is not there in the new modem.

Thanks

Actually, the Beetel modems that Airtel provide, do have the port forwarding feature, just not in the GUI. You'll need to telnet into the router and configure forwarding via a CLI. Alternatively, you can have the Airtel guy configure the Beetel modem in bridge mode and then you setup PPPoE on your Netgear router and just do the forwarding on the Netgear.

Exactly!

I recently forwarded the port on my new Beetel 450 TCI WiFi Router (from Airtel).

Access the modem's control panel (settings), add the necessary details (depends on the application) and you are done!

There are also video guides on YouTube.

im using a beetel 220bx adsl2+ modem. I have done pert forwarding. It works perfectly. I mainly use it for CS Game Server.

For beetel routers/modems you have to forwards ports via dos prompt.

PM me for details

Not necessarily.
I didn't have to do that for my Beetel modem or router.

The DOS prompt is the only option for almost all of them, leaving a few with dated firmwares.

Open DOS prompt :-
1. telnet 192.168.1.1 (or whatever it may be depending on area)
2. Login : admin
