Hi Guys,
Not sure if i am in right thread or not, could'nt find one for specifically discussing configs.
Need to build a rig which is gonna serve me as my media hub. I have decided upon a config based on so very little knowledge i may be having.
CPU: q6600
MB: Not sure please guide
GFX: 8800gt (suggest which brand to go for, can this output to HDMI?)
HD: two (10k raptor or 7200.10 seagte) in raid 1 config..space not a matter ..have another rack with .75tb sitting in it.
Ram: corsair/ transcend/Kingston ddr2 value ram 3gigs (1gb+512mb) in each slot for ddr channels.(will go wth 32bit win xp pro, they don't support 4gb).
Dvd: any dvd rom would suffice me. silent, fast and reliable, do not need a writer.
tv tuner: want a fully compatible media centre one... some hauppage one should do..do we know of any avail. in indian market which allows for PIP(Picture in Picture).
Monitor: 22 or 24 inch full HD (1900x1200) monitor which has accurate color reproduction for graphics work.
Cabinet/PSU:you guys are the masters suggest one which should be sufficient for the above, maybe leave a bit of scope for 1-2 pci cards. cabby well ventilated and sleek. PSU as silent as possible please.having an inbuilt provision for media center ir-receiver would be great. DO NOT need an HTPC case.
I do not over clock, nor do i intend to do it, in near future.
My profession is of a software engineer so i will do development and testing on it hence qaud core needed. My second profession is of media artist/photographer so i need good quality graphics inside and on display.
My budget for components are as follows (10-15% plus/minus is not an issue):
CPU+MOBO = 15k
GFX = 15k
Ram = 5k
HDD= 5-7k
Cabby+PSU = 5-7k
Monitor = 25k, can stretch to 30k if product speaks for itself
TV Tuner = 5k
dvd rom = 2k
Peripheral's : MC remote, wireless kb + mouse = left over money if saved
Total Budget : 75-85k
A Big thanks to all for reading my query and thanks if anybody can provide me answers.
Note : Prices need to be delhi based... rough estimates are fine as well if not from delhi.
