Hidden Reflex, an Indian startup running since 2008, developed and launched India's first web browser entitled 'Epic'. Its creators claim that it can scan your computer for viruses, track your stock portfolio, type in 12 Indian languages, book travel tickets, spot phishing attacks at the same time, without having to visit multiple websites or switch between applications, all for free. A unique feature of this browser is that it supposedly comes with an in-built antivirus. Its built on the new FF 4 ,looks good installation was breeze and did notice difference while loading pages compared to FF 3.6.I feel its just FF4 tweaked with plugins .Any one here tired it

PS: This thread is not for opera lovers stay away and don't start flame wars :P

^^ LOL u and ur privacy ! Its based on Firefox so u can purge all history in seconds.

Btw the default theme is yuck, but the browser seems really heandy and pluggins are just awesome :D

so now government does not have anything to do & track people who download porn ???

i am not my paying taxes to them to check who is downloading porn ???

How to change the Epic Browser theme/Skin?

Epic calls the themes as Skins which are available under the ‘Skins’ option under the sidebar. Click on the this and you will find a list of different Skins available for your browser. Dress up your Epic by clicking on the different theme styles available under the names People, Culture, Regional, Sports, Films, Art, Music, Religious, Politics & Nature. Click on any of these and you will get sub categories. Once you have selected any sub category there would be a list of different skins available which can be applied in the form of a theme and wallpaper or else both. Once you click on the + Both option the selected skin would be applied instantly without the need for restarting the browser. more

@People who are using this.. how is this browser in resource utilization? I mean is it a CPU and Memory hog? Would like to try it out on my office laptop.
 
i downloaded it. pages loading takes a bit of time than firefox , Guess too many plugins spoiling it. would rather stick to the trio of opera ,FF,chrome,

By the way my observation found that opera loads the fastest, then Chrome and then FF.

P.S it would be partly because of my slower internet connection (256kbps).

Finally uninstalled it. NOT for me is this EPIC.
 
nah, didn't like the shortcuts on the left side... if that can be removed, i will happily use it....

currently using FF and chrome... :)
 
i love minimalist designs like Google chrome

i installed epic but was too confused with all the bright colors and pictures and hideous designs :)

my tiny little mind couldn't handle all that amount of info at once and instructed the fingers to hit "Uninstall"!

Could've done better if it had a little more aesthetic design,

instead of trying to pull my Patriotic and very Indian heartstrings!!
