Has been great for scanning photos over the years, especially as it does so at 4800 dpi. Don't remember exactly when it was purchased, but still works as expected. Works over any micro USB cable and there are some quirks with the product itself like it will not always be detected when hotplugged, but powers on during the PC/laptop reboot, so don't consider that as a product issue.

Still have the original box, so don't foresee an issue with shipping, but it will be at buyer's risk.

I remember doing so a long time back, so don't remember what the final output was. However, there are online references to it, so it should work but you can check out more details for confirmation.
