error loading operating system

i tried to install XP on an ZOTAC Nforce610i value and p4 processor with Seagate 40gb HD on primary master of onboard IDE and LG DVDwriter on primary master slave IDE... Installation goes OK for the first part (copying files to hd) (I tried FAT, NTFS)..Then, after reboot, I get

Disk error...

when i changed the HD which already has a XP in it and tried booting it shows

Error loading operating system

wat is the problem i do know wat wil be problem behind this..
