Ethanol blended petrol

Has the govt lost its senses ? From 10% ethanol, they are now going to make it 20% ethanol blended petrol.

Has any dept made an study on issues of blended petrol, any white paper released ? No debate in Parliament. Will the insurance companies cover this damages .

On one hand states are asking more rice at govt rates, on the other hand govt refuses to sell under old system..it will allow stocks to rot so it can sell that same rice at rs 20 per kg to refinery.

Can today’s vehicles accept the E20 blend?

For E10 fuel, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), had set up fuel material compatibility countermeasures for all vehicles from model year 2008. So, all vehicles sold in India after 2008 can take E10 fuel without any difficulty. However, current E10 compatible vehicles cannot take more than a 10 per cent blend as there are material compatibility concerns with parts that come in contact with fuel. There are design and material changes required to adapt to E20 fuel but the industry is working to implement E20 material compatibility for new vehicles from April 2023 onwards. There will be changes in hoses and gaskets but the investments required are not substantial.

Old news but still relevant, Mr.Gadkari has had a stake in companies like these since ages.

All they know/care about is it will damage older vehicles, so they will have to be scrapped and you'll have to buy a brand new vehicle so lots of income for them from taxes as well as scrappage.

Nope. Most by default don't even cover engine damage due to hydrolock. Even warranty won't be covered due to "fuel adulteration".

They should just switch new vehicles to E100 (100% ethanol) and provide pure petrol for older vehicles. It's sad that we are essentially paying for adulterated fuel.

This seems to be one more planned obsolescence to keep the economy running.
with EV subsidies also being removed, more money in taxes and more expenses for us

This is the plan. At the federal level, govt is adding more and more emissions by building coal plants. It wants you to take the fall, and compensate its emissions by scrapping your old cars.

Delhi scraps vehicles older than 10 years and how much has it helped to control its pollution? Not even 1%.
