Petrol/diesel hikes also mean more tax collection

So the govt. would increase taxes in EV's and solar chargers to offset the loss of taxes from lower fuel sales

otherwise, they would have made atleast the Reva and its parts tax free
 
^^ uh, AFAIK, in Delhi and Chandigarh, if you buy an electric vehicle, you are entitled to a 15% subsidy on the base price. In addition, the VAT and some road taxes are waived off.

no idea about other cities.

I remembered reading on Team BHP that the roadd tax was deferred by 10-15 years and not waived off

Also, replacement batteries were taxed like any other product.

I'll check and post the link if I find it sometime
