Exatt Suckage in Mumbai...

I am getting only 8KBps download speed on a 128k unlimited line :( ...i used to get 13 - 15k before dat fibre got cut in the sea last month in the Mediterranean.......now i dont get above 8ks.....surfin also is damn slow :(.....its also happnin 2 all the ppl around me who hav taken the same connection.....exatt customer service sux big time....sum stupid gal lifts da fone n tels everytime that "WE'RE CHECKIN IT SIR..." dis is frm the past 1 month :( ..... dis time i tol i wana speak to sum supervisor.....da B**** tels me dat "UTNA Hi MILEGA" .... im like are u nuts ??? she repeated da same thing again n again.....wat a bunch of MEGA MORONS....den i call their main office in andheri and there ppl keep telin me call here n there....dis is completetly BULL**** ....nobody is ready to get this solved....does any have a CONSUMER FORUMS number i can call ???? or ny other solution :(
 
There is nothing much you can do. All ISPs can only supply a part of what they say (due to distance from the ISP). So your problem will be with the actual cable distributor in the area.

For Example, I have a 512 Unlimited Exatt Connection. at my office, we get ~60kbps out of a maximum of 64kbps.

But my old exatt connection at home , 256kbps, I used to only get about 20kbps out of 32kbps possible.
 
Talk again with them, tell them that you recorded everything,,Then threaten them that the DOT guidelines say that the Subscriber MUST get atleast 90% of the promised bandwidth...
Search more on the forum, there was one thread abt these guidelines i think..
There are many more penalties for them...
 
I was on exatt before I switched to Tata. The downtimes were frequent and had the ping problems on CS servers. It would go to 500-600 in a few seconds. Also the 128kbps connection would give only 64kbps download speed. I believe the problem lies with the local cable wallahs who have the kuch bhi chalta hai attitude.
 
Exatt is the sh****st ISP there is....they are bunch of morons....i cant believe that they are still swindling ppl!!

Somebody shld physically take down this crappy service...
 
I would like to add that Exatt was bad for me a few months back, but for the last 6-8 months, I have had very good service. I can't even remember the last downtime I had. Coupled with the fact that we are paying about 1.5k per month for multiuser 512kbps unlimited data transfer, I think they are a good option depending on your local cable supplier.
 
doesnt nybody have a relative or friend who works for consumer forum or TRAI or lawyer who can slap a case on these dimwits ???? from the past 1 month im gettin these B****** speeds. They sayin it wil be alright in the next week...they sayin this from past 1 month :@:@:@
 
^^well i really sympathize with u mate, OT : when i was in mumbai i had that s***ty connection for almost 1.5 years, with 70% downtimes during a month and no alternative at that time... but due to our local DC++hub in kalina, all our basic :D needs were taken care of few of our dedicated dnloaders, damm i literaly used to pull my hair out while talking to these ppl, most of the users in my area even threatened the exatt ppl of draging them to the consumer court, and guess wt was their reply,, "Tumko Dusra Connection Milta hai to leo na, hamara dimaag kyo KHAA rahe ho" heh that was some reply, and as there was no alternative at that time, we couldent really do anything. Now that i m here, ive have taken BSNL, and i m surprised to say, for once the goverment service is really excellent, i guess better than most, for my 256UL conn i get around 28 to 30 KBps constant, 24hrs a day with so less downtimes that i cant even remember when the last one happd.

(sorry for all the rambling there, heh got carried away :P) SO i guess dragging their A**es to court wont do anything to them, and itll waste lots of ur time and money, i guess best option is , if it is an option that is, is to change ur ISP once and for all.

why don't you write your problem to CNBC programme uncovered..I remember a person had problem with his ISP downoad speeds&later got solved when awaaz people intevened.Also you get a free publicity:tongue:
