Graphic Cards Excellent Article on the 3d card industry

@Aces Nice find... A really informative article...

By the look of things i feel nVIDIA will keep dominating for the next year too at all price points...

^^ Is it cause I think ATI will be having an upper hand provided their cards release for retailers. They screwed up big time with X800 with only Oem's getting the major share.
Hmm SM 3.0 is yet underpowered on NV4x series lets hope Fudo does to ATI what 9700 pro did to them with SM 2.0 a solid support for Pixel shading.

Nonetheless with all the rumours floating around for Fudo, G70 is like a tight secret..

Definitely ATi screwed up big time with the x series when they dint have enough chips for the retail market. The OEMs ended up getting most of it. Lets hope this is not repeated with the "Fudo"

If you read the article carefully then you will understand what i am saying is correct cause the fabrication process which ATI is using for Fudo has very low yeilds per silicon wafer while nVidia has the upper hand in that which will eventually matter in the production of the chips hence the supply of the chips... The same thing is happening with the X700 vs 6600 GT... While 6600 can easily clock to 500 MHz which stops at 475 MHz for X700's...

Read it fully just now, yup Switch made a good observation there. Looks like nVidia will have the upper hand in terms of marketing/availability & pricing. Things will look interesting when nVidia releases their "Go" based GPU on the desktop.

Nice read, all the news indicates that nVidia will have the upper hand as in market & innovation terms this year, but lets not forget ATI is not far behind, when they strike they strike,we all remember the 9800Pro when it came out.

Umm AFAIK there is hardly any info on G70, if mobile go is an indicator, yes Nvidia will have better yields. But will the SM 3.0 support improve so that it can actually be utilized and more games use it ? Right now Nvidia's SM 3.0 support is a lil more then a marketing gimmick as even the top end cards struggle with HDR, and displacement mapping enabled...

Fudo on the other hand looks awesome on the specs !!! But yes I do agree its gonna be a massive die, and retailing and availibity will be an issue
