[Exclusive] Micromax Canvas Turbo Is A Rebranded Wiko DarkFull

Micromax has created a lot of hype for its upcoming Canvas Turbo smartphone which will be promoted by Hugh Jackman as brand ambassador. Till now they have teased the smartphone on Facebook page showing few pictures of the rear camera and back. After digging up a bit, we can confirm that the Canvas Turbo is indeed a rebranded Wiko DarkFull.

The Wiko DarkFull was unveiled at IFA 2013 and expected to be launched in November 2013, so we can expect Micromax Canvas Turbo also to launch during the same time.





The earlier leaked pics of user manual sketch showing the bottom 3.5mm jack placement is also confirmed from the video. The smartphone has power button and volume rocker on the right side and two SIM slots on left side.



The smartphone is powered by Mediatek MT6589T Turbo 1.5GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor, and not 1.2GHz MT6589 as rumored previously, it also explains the reason behind Turbo branding in the name.

  • Processor : MediaTek MT6589T quad core Cortex A7 clocked at 1.5 GHz

  • Internal storage : 16 GB
  • Camera : 13MP rear Camera With Autofocus and LED flash, 5MP Front facing camera
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB, 3.5mm jack

So far its almost confirmed that the Canvas Turbo is indeed the Wiko DarkFull , the DarkFull is priced at 299 Euro which translates to over Rs 25000 price tag. We will have to wait few more days until the official announcement to find out .

For the same reason the Allwinner A10 was famous - cheap in huge volumes and pinout compatibility. Not to mention, it would be a complete AIO chip, integrating almost everything.
 
So if say the camera fails, the whole thing fails kya?

No. Firstly, the camera module is a separate part, connected by a MIPI connection to the MT chip which does the DSP. Although, when the camera app is started, if the camera is kaput - it could hang the phone or the camera app may force close. Ditto for the other modules - WiFi, BT, etc.
 
Actually the word used "Rebranded" is a bit confusing, cause in a way both MMX and Wiko are rebranding each other's phone. Because actually the thing is that these both brands Purchase unbranded phones from the same manufacturer in china and sell it under their respective names. So in this way both have got the same specs and the piece...
