Sony's upcoming Android smartphones for 1H of 2013 gets revealed exclusively by Techenclave. This list contains all smartphones below the Xperia Z and ZL, with the Xperia Z taking the top flagship spot of course. Introducing, the Xperia C550X, Xperia C530X, Xperia C360X and the Xperia C210X smartphones. These smartphones will add to the existing list of Xperia Z (C660X), Xperia ZL (C650X), Xperia E (C150X) and Xperia E Dual (C160X) smartphones for the complete 2013 line up by Sony.
Xperia C550X
The Xperia C550X will be the smartphone aimed directly under the Xperia ZL. And rightly so. Packing the same Snapdragon S4 Pro Quad core, the Xperia C550X trades in the 5 inch Full HD display for a 4.6 inch 720p panel. RAM also gets halved to 1 GB. 2 GB would have certainly made this phone a hell lot sweeter as a deal.
Xperia C550X Specifications
As you can see for yourself, the new high end (not ultra high end) smartphone from Sony will be a fantastic smartphone catering to those who want a smaller display and yet some of those thrills and frills of the Xperia Z, such as the Opticontrast display, or the 13 MP Exmor camera, or just the IP58 Dust and Water resistant certification.
The Xperia C550X will be a capable successor to the Xperia T and Xperia V smartphones.
The price of the Xperia C550X will be about INR Rs. 29,000. It will launch at the end of April, 2013.
Xperia C530X
The Xperia C530X will be a notch lower than the C550X. The quad core is gone and is now replaced with a dual core. Fear not, the Adreno 320 power house GPU remains. 1 GB of RAM and a smaller but same capable opticontrast display also remains. IP58 certification is not confirmed however.
Xperia C530X Specifications
This too is a great smartphone to replace the likes of the Xperia S and SL for good. We still get an HD display and 8 MP Exmor R sensor.
The price of the Xperia C530X will be about INR Rs. 25,000. It will launch towards the end of April - beginning of May, 2013.
Xperia C360X
Xperia C360X goes another step down in progression. With each step, some features are traded in for lower end ones. In this step, the chipset gets replaced with an older one powered by the Adreno 225 GPU, which too is a capable GPU. The display is no longer packing opticontrast technology. The screen size is between 4 and 4.3 inches, but retains the HD (1280 x 720) resolution thankfully.
Xperia C360X Specifications
This smartphone will be a great replacement for the capable Xperia P, albeit with expandable storage.
The price of the Xperia 360X will be about INR Rs. 22,000. It will launch in May, 2013.
Xperia C210X
The Xperia C210X will be the lowest end Xperia 2013 smartphone (leaving the Xperia E and E Dual apart, which are in a different category altogether). Leaving the HD display behind, the Xperia C210X will be a budget smartphone aimed at the masses.
Xperia C210X Specifications
Even the low end Xperia C210X will pack a dual core Krait CPU. Sony's entire lineup consists of Snapdragons, much like it's Xperia 2011 lineup. The Xperia C210X will replace the popular Xperia U and SOLA smartphones with a just pricing and better specifications than both. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will make an appearance on this smartphone as well.
The price of the Xperia C550X will be about INR Rs. 16,000. It will launch towards the end of April - beginning of May, 2013.
