explorer.exe problem

my nephew had come over to my house..
i left the pc unattended for like 20mins and i dunno wut he did now. evrytime i click on a Drive in My Computers, it opens up in a new explorer widows like so,

yup.. the settings are default.
i jus cant seem to figure out how this is still happening..
doesnt happen with folders.. just the drive icons
 
why not ask your nephew what he did :p

in folder options under filetypes and drive what does it show now ?

if there is an autorun.inf on your partition try deleting it and see
 
backup your registry . click run & enter this line ... regsvr32 /i shell32.dll .
if it doesnt solve then ,

you might want to scan for spyware / virus ... how old is this nephew :p

tried it.... still no diff

my nephew is like 9yrs old.. i asked him wut he did and this is wut he said.. "i dunno, was trying to start a game"

lol so i didnt even bother :bleh: cuz he prolly got confused and did somethin else :p
 
^^ comparing my pc folder option to your pc's -

1. - there is no open command in my drive associations.

2. - always show extension is unchecked
