I had Installed VB 6.0 On My Laptop(It Gave Compatibility Issues With Vista,I Knew That Anyway). When I Tried Uninstalling It,It Gave Compatibility Issues Again,But I Went Ahead.
Since Then,Something's Messed Up My Explorer.Whenever I Try Accessing C:\ Drive Using Explorer,To Go To Program Files Or My Docs,It Works Fine The First Time,But A Second Access Is Denied. The Explorer Simply Hangs.I Have To Manually Shut And Restart It.The Problem Doesn't Affect Any Other Drive,Or The Folders On My Desktop,Which Are On The Same C Drive.
What Could Be The Problem?(I'd Imagined The Problem Was With Offending VB 6.0 Registry Entries,Which I Removed Using Tune Up Registry Cleaner,But No Effect).
?????

Bloody OS Hadn't Created A Restore Point For Over A Month(It Did Ironically Create One Right After I User Symantec 360 To Clear Up The Registry).
I Did Use The One Month Old Backup,But It Was Ineffective,Said Restore Failed And None Of The Settings Would Be Changed.

Restore points are created every now and then.Maybe your system restore is disabled. This could be virus problem too.Try doing full system scan by an updated antivirus and see if it finds anything.

There Is No Virus.
System Was Under Protection By An Updated Symantec 360 V2.0.Besides,The Problem Cropped Up Only After I'd Deleted Visual Basic.

Use msconfig to see what programs you have running at start up.There could be some conflict.Restart your system in safe mode and see if you can explore C normally.

That'd be a rather drastic solution.
It'll be a tall task backing almost 80 GB Of data inside my windows drive.
No Other solution?

Yeah repairing is a good option. Most of the times it solves the problem and lets hope it will this time too.By the way how you uninstalled VB?Just the normal uninstall or you used some uninstaller application or you just deleted the things manually?

I Uninstalled It Normally.
By Going Into Control Panel->Uninstall Programs.
Didn't Use Any Uninstaller Application,And Certainly Didn't Delete Anything.
I Think Something's gone Wrong With My Profile.

Status Update:-
Problem still not resolved,no matter what I do.
Also,I've noticed that the explorer always keeps my CPU EXTREMELY busy, with CPU usage never going down below 50% for explorer.
What do I do?
