Storage Solutions Extending the USB 3 HDD cable?

I am planning on buying a USB 3 external HDD. I have an HDTV to which I plug my old USB 2 HDD and play movies off it on my HDTV. Now the cable on the USB3 HDD will not be long enough to reach my TV. Can I extend this using a USB 2.0 A-Male to A-Female Extension Cable and connect to my TV? Wont this work?

Yes, you can. but it will run @ USB 2.0 speeds only.

Thanks. USB 2 speeds are not an issue since my TV is only USB2....
