hey guys iam planning to get a WD My book for 5450 1 TB locally it comes with 3 years warranty should i go for it or should i go for seagate external 1TB which has warranty for 5yrs ???? which is better and also how is the failure rate of WD

External HDD ??? please answer ? thanks a lot in advance

and also how is WD warranty do they replace defetive goods promptly????
 
There will be very little difference in speeds/reliability , i have seen people failing both WD/Seagate very early

Gte the one which looks better / better warranty / VFM
 
well for 5450 the wd my book seems to be a good bargain :D so how is the after sales service by WD do they promptly exchange on site ???????
 
yesterday my friend bought an WD my book 1TB home edition and he told me that the read and write speeds suck ??? now what should i do know should i get a seagate or a WD ??????????

damn i end up spamming my own thread :(
 
If you want high speeds get an Internal drive + Esata casing or Esata dock + esata bracket.

otherwise as somenone pointed out before, get the most VFM drive, brand doesn't matter that much.

You'll probably get speeds max ~30MB/s on external usb drives.
