Yes, I know it doesn't need an external power and I have been using it without any hassles. But I've bought a Nationite media player which has the OTG function(On the go) which allows me to connect external drives as along as they are powered externally.
I connected my pen drive and it was recognized flawlessly. But the player prompted a message that it cant power the Freeagent 500 hdd on it's own, or to that effect.
So any way, I can do this.I read in some audio forum that a guy "jumpered the hdd for external power". Is that possible?

r u sure that thats d prob?

these on the go drives can only run on a fat32 hdd. The pendrive would be fat32 without a doubt but the 2.5hdd wouldnt be. it would be on ntfs.

You will have to convert the ntfs to fat32..

Ofcourse im just guessing here so chk your seagate format. If its ntfs, thats where your problem is..

cheers
