As far as my understanding of external seeding goes it means to seed a torrent without downloading. I mean get the file from another source and point the torrent to that file when adding to the torrent client and it should start seeding. Right ?
Now as per this assumption, what i did was downloaded a 700 MB file from desitorrents and then downloaded the same torrent file (not actual data) from bwtorrents and uploaded on torrent client. It did a check and found that file is downloaded and hence started seeding immediately. Now the client showed 0.00Kb downloaded and few MBs uploaded. After some time i went to bwtorrent website and for that particular torrent i checked the peer statistics and it showed mine is that 700 MB downloaded when i never downloaded form BWT
This issue does not happen with desitorrents when i have a file and do external seeding on desitorrents but bwtorrents is somehow calculating my *ghost* download
