Storage Solutions External to Internal hard disk conversion

Guys I am in desperate need of atleast 320gb Internal hard disk for my laptop.

With Internal hard disk prices hitting the roof, I have decided that I will buy a portable hard disk and remove the enclosure and use the hard disk inside it for my laptop.

I realized after opening WD essentials hard disk that Sata to USB connector is in built in the hard disk itself so basically WD Essential series are useless for this purpose.

I am eyeing Iomega and Transcend as of now, any idea whether I can remove hard disk from these enclosures and use it as an internal hard disk.

With Transcend you can, usually. IMO, there is not too much of a differance, better get the HDD.

the warranty would be void if you convert it to internal, i think..
