Storage Solutions External USB casing for DVD writer - Need suggestions !

My laptop optical drive is now as good as dead. So I guess I need an external DVD writer soon. I have an unused internal DVD writer (Sony DRU 820A) which I'm thinking of using as an external drive. I need an external casing for this purpose. Can you suggest me some casings which would go with this drive..? I'm not sure if its a SATA or IDE drive, but its more than 2.5 yrs old, so I guess it must be the latter. I want something that is fairly reliable, and that is cheap.. Honestly I'm not sure how much this would cost me, so if there is some better alternative at the same price range, suggest me.

i have a spare Laptop CDRW/DVDROM Drive

Ur sony is IDE u require a IDE 5.25 casing

or any other which is available on ebay which fits all IDE/SATA , 2.5" ,3.5 and 5.25
 
these external things have adaptors which go off pretty quickly so make sure you go for some branded Known company which can provide you warranty. it might cost you around 200 300 bux extra but its worth it.
 
I bought a Zippy one for 700 bucks off ebay around 7 months ago, PCB conked off after 2 months , gave it for RMA , they fitted a new one , has been working great since then
