Facebook chat tooooo slow

Since a month now, (after the recent facebook update) FB chat is is a freaking PITA to use, and the condition worsen when chatting with more than one person While browsing and the usual posting, everything is okay but during chatting with someone its just too slow, sometimes in b/w it also freezes and then becomes okay for 2-3 sec and then again the same thing. Im frustrated, does this happen to everyone or is it just me? i dont have a wooden PC that cant even handle FB chat, but as things are going, that does seem true. BTW I have uploaded a screenshot of windows task manager..the load on my proccy while chatting is also unacceptable...it is in waves, from 100% to 0 and then again 100%

Even i am facing this issue.My browser hung's if i try to chat with 3 or 4 people at a time.My lappy becomes non responsive for about 3-4 minutes .I never bothered to the task manager good that you have pointed out let me try to check what is my system usage when i try to chat.

That task manager pick that I have posted, and load it is showing is comparatively low to what I was getting earlier, this period was a "low" period..I could have posted a better pic..

it is slow , it hangs , its no good to use ....

solution : dont use Fb chat

I have the same problem too! So if lots of people ping me, i just tell them to shift our conversation to an IM.

Too bad the design and feel of Facebook is not the same as it used to be, there are far too many changes and very buggy ones as such.

I do the same. Sometimes the message doesnt go when i press enter. I should minimize the chat box and maximize it again and then the chat goes. Don't know exactly if it's a fault with facebook or with my system :S

It's the problem with facebook's unoptimized chat i guess

I have a weird problem. When even I get a 'chat' reply on FB. My DL manager picks it up as a .MP3, and tries to download it. Damn irritating. I tried to disable via the Fresh DL manager, never works. Happens in FF.

guys d prob is only with mozilla, for fb chat ive switched to chrome or safari and it works perfect. I had d same problem with mozilla. Just switch guys///

You can also pop out the FB Chat.

an older version of firefox gave me this problem. after i updated to the latest, it's gone.

That makes my problem worse, I think it has something to do with Mozilla, I better change to Opera now

Its a problem with FF I've tried it in Chrome and its perfectly fine.
