Just saw this

2 weeks from now Facebook will have online chat, similar to Gtalk's online chat window the program will sit at the bottom of the page showing open chat windows and number of friends online. The user can pop out the entire chat interface into a separate window to show online friend lists and current conversations to allow for real time communication within the popular social network

facebook seems to be a welcome change from orkut, which has now become reallllllllllyyyyyyyyy boring..although it gets very irritating when they compel you to invite friends for every goddamn thing...
