I wanted to know that is the TRAI rule for FAIR USAGE POLICY a mandatory for all telecom operator or limited to BSNL and their infrastructure sharing operators only? :ashamed:

This question came to me after I talked with one executive of the Reliance Broadband Service provider. He said that Reliance is free of such policy as they have their own infratructure and dont share it with anybody, so they do not implement FAIR USAGE POLICY in their broadband plan. But those Telecom Broadband operator like AIRTEL, TATA, BSNL which share same infrastructure implement this policy for broadband plan...

I wanted to know how much true it is? this will be a major reason if I am going to change the connection from Airtel to Reliance?

Other than that Airtel is good... Reliance dont know?

AFAIK Airtel & Tata definitely have FUP in their BB plans & Airtel being worst.
Local cable ISP's don't have FUP in their plans.
Can't say anything about reliance as I never used its BB.

if your are taking reliance tell them to give you in written that they don't have FUP in the plan that you are taking.

I can just say the way it being implimented in india is just to mint more money and give as less as possible just another cheap way to fool and scam customers

I dumped Airtel after it started it's fair usage policy

Extremely happy with Reliance now which has no fair usage policy crap :D

Airtel Crapo Crap Crappy! Stay off their stupid marketing gimmicks! Got bad experience here.. Stay OFF!!

AS for other i haven't much used'em

How come these local ISPs generally never have FUP ? Where do they lease the bandwidth from ?
It kind a funny but my local internet provider got line from airtel and so mean if i take from local cable guy its without fup and if i take directly from airtel its with fup lolz

Many local cable operators have their own hub network parallel to the broadband network.
So users generally do not go full on to utilize their bandwidth.
So they do not need to implement FUP.

Recently I booked a broadband connection and was promised a 4GB pendrive as gift.After more than a month of booking the connection, I'm yet to receive the promised pendrive and all complaints lodged with Airtel, at different levels, are not yielding any result. Can any body help? Thanks.

^^ This need a separate thread, isn't it.

Airtel has reduced GBs recently, previously on swift it was 20 Gb, now it is 15 GB. Don't know why they are doing it. Getting more customer I think.

They are doing it so save their cost and making more profits because due to lots of players revenue for airtel is going low year on year basis.

Hey Devagral keep sending compalins and i am 100% sure airtel will be same sleepy as they are and your list of complains will be 100 but still no result

why just complain threaten to disconnect and if they wont budge then do disconnect. many of those previous disconnections have got a call back within 7 days for a better offer.

Thanks all...
Ya Udit me also going to dump this airtel for the FUP. I will switch over to Reliance 1mbps for 1K :beer: .
GGt u r right they will call back for retention of their connection, last time when I left the connection they offered me with better offer. :2guns: FUP sucks :chair: , but this time the ice will not melt for sure. Reading all this I fell that India is quit far behind in broadband then most of the other countries.. Broadband in Indi needs reform...

Me moving to Reliance for sure...

Got the connection of Reliance Broadband. Connection is good and steady. Also got very less ping in online games... Let see how it goes... :)

Thank you all for your advice reg. pendrive problem.Think will persue for some more time before iniating any action.

airtel = sucker
plans change anytime
feasibility = fool's gold
fup = lowlife way to delay their infrastructure expansion costs

I had this problem with Hathway 1Mbps connection. Max d/l is only 25GB. Beem Broad band's max is 30GB for 1Mbps package.
Any suggestions with ISPs promising more d/ls ?
