Fake Hoya UV (N) HMC from Snapdeal (77 mm)

I recently purchased a Hoya 77mm basic UV filter from Snapdeal as a 'protection from the elements' for the front of my lens. The element being a one year old infant who is the subject of intense photography right now.

If you see the attached pictures, you will notice:

1. Grainy print on the labels. (Apologies for the potato lens pictures)
2. Unsealed product (as was provided) in a somewhat shabby plastic cover (improper storage/ reused box?)
3. 77 MM sticker on the box, generic sticker, does not look like what is there in the genuine product
4. Barcode at the rear - translates to a 62 MM UV (N) HMC from Hoya. Barcode number can also be verified online at: http://www.computeruniverse.net/en/products/90042255/hoya-uv-hmc-62mm.asp .
5. Missing importer/ distributor and MRP sticker
6. Took snapdeal over a week of emails, and finally sent a mail to their CEO 'kunal.bahl@snapdeal.com' to get a response. They are arranging a pick up today, and will provide me the replacement.

As of now, I have asked them to provide me a replacement of this with the genuine article.

Have you faced such issues earlier in buying online? I avoided ebay precisely because of this and have still ended up in the same soup.

Further, should I notify any government body of this? Is there any government body who will look into this?
Finally, If you have any direct contacts at Hoya, please share this thread with them as well. It is high time they take steps to ensure business for them, and safety for us.

Ah, dont bother with the mails. I got fed up with Shopclues, having wrote to Kingston and Samsung [Got fake mem cards of both], which were not very useful [kingston promised police action - dunno whether they arrested the CEO of Shopclues like Timtara]. Hence sticking to Flipkart and Amazon. And sometimes, EBay.

Ideally, Lenovo, and the kind should allow Amazon, FK, EBay to sell their stuff, while penalize Shopclues, and the like which sell fakes. And it should not stop with just electronic stuff, but also from sellers like Reebok.
 
Snapdeal or Ebay.in has been turning out to be a real nightmare for online shopping, pricing may be good at times, but at a cost; if anything goes wrong, you will be in the soup. It better to look at alternative
 
So update time: I got a call from their customer support. Apparently, they can replace a fake product with only a fake product and not a genuine product. While I insisted they must arrange a genuine product from their supplier(s) they agreed on the phone, but sent me an email of refund of the amount. Stupid guys, they may not last very long if they will keep this up.
 
No, this occurred after reverse pickup.

Btw seller name was Rainbow, whose listings were removed post the complaint, but is now back again with the same products and same rates.

snapdeal sucks
i purchased a motherboard and processor from there and there is major fault in the motherboard. Some Pins of processor socket are bent. After that i got my cash back but processor is still with me lying idle just because of Snapdeal.
