Storage Solutions FAKE!! Kingston and Corsair PENDRIVES in Ebay. Beware!!!!!

here in mumbai...near every local railway station vendors sell these fake stuff.....500gb pendrives for rs 500 and can b bargained upto 50rs also :P...daily so many ppl get fooled.

i even told a guy who was buying a 256gb pd that its fake....and the guy was so excited that he said "tum ko kuch pata nahi hai...yaha pendrive mein likha hai kingston 256gb karke ....kingston bhahut bada brand hai..tum bhi lelo....main kal aur do loonga" lol...:P
 
a rich chindi colleague from my office got 64GB pen-drive from CST station for Rs.300/-

it did show 64GB but took ages to copy but bugger failed to realize that he was fooled.
 
^^ if u want to buy corsair drives, go to primeabgb.com and ask them to list on ebay. They have real drives and cheapest as well..I bought a 32GB GTR one from them for around 3.5k after ebay coupon
 
I too bought a fake 32gb kingston for Rs.500 from palika delhi, but I was able to format it to 2Gb using some software. well as a 2gb drive it's working fine.. :)
 
Just use common sense. Pendrives having more than 8 gb capasity are bound to be fake. I don't know whether 16gb genuine pendrive exists or not.

No that's not the case. 32GB and 64GB pendrive does exists.

His phrase sounds more like BS to me! There are 16/32 GB pen drives retailing in the market already. Common sense is not so common unfortunately.

@OP: Get your post right. She has compiled on article on the best 128GB flash drives available. *NOT* fake 128GB drives in the market.

Although I have come across those Kingston Data Traveler 32GB fakes before I am yet to come across a Corsair fake!

subject is different here & no one asked about 32GB & where is it available.
 
I think we should buy from a good, well known shop rather than believing street hawkers. And on ebay of course from power sellers who have many positive ratings. And if possible judge by serial no's or anything like that.

And in case of street hawkers if bargaining lowers the price from Rs. 1000/- to Rs. 100/- then of-course it's **FAKE** :P

The matter is as others said...if the deal sounds too good to be true it's probably isn't :)
