Out of curiosity, I was wondering if any of you check out gaming footage on youtube on a regular basis? I started in 2009 as I wanted to check out the latest and greatest games but didn't have any good consoles or a capable PC. I was looking for "Heavy rains" gameplay and saw a play-through by "darksydephil" highly rated. This guys voice over was for the game was really hilarious and I watched the entire play-though in a day. Since then I am addicted to such "let's plays" on youtube.

Of late, I have been checking out live streaming on twitch.tv and find it a good way to learn a game, specially FPS's and RPG's which require some understanding of the game's mechanics. Often I have the stream running on one monitor while I play on the other.

So I wanted to know whether anyone here shares my interest in online game related videos? Do you have any favorite gamers?

half the time if i'm not playing BF3, I will be watching BF3 vids on youtube

never missed any vid on the BF3 Subreddit. I dont have any favourite gamers as such but if I see the channel I will recollect

lately i have been watching more of elitegamebros, levelcapgaming, battlefieldo, DRMB, birgirpall and ofc a lot of machinima for the general gaming stuff.

it's like watching movies. playthrough+commentary is awesome. I have played halflife games a few times repeatedly but have watched SO many commentaries also with playthroughs, some are hilarious

When I used to play CS competetively in college, CS frag videos were the rage. Videos from eoLithic, Pubmasters, Heaton, Neo, SK were hugely popular. own-age.com was the place to be, it hosted thousands of gaming videos. Too bad it shutdown in 2009. Nowadays I just hang around youtube looking for some fun BF3 videos when I am bored.

Yes, same here. I like watching gameplay footage from Youtube mainly (NextGenWalkthroughs, BonersGames, GTAmissions and a bunch of other uploaders). It started with watching Splinter Cell videos when I wanted to try speed-running through some of the levels in SC, I got hooked from then on.

Btw, I've seen some nice channels on Justin.tv of gamers who cast their gameplay live. They are pretty good to watch.

I frequent YouTube for almost anything, and everything. Be it walkthroughs, trailers, tournament videos etc. For reviews, I mostly prefer Game Trailers. I highly recommend you people watch some of the reviews from acronfilms for selected bunch of PS3 titles. This guy is hilarious. Then finally, there's Zero Punctuation reviews, which are laugh-a-riot ones, presented by none other than, Yathzee.

Own3d.tv for lol.

Youtube - dota2cinema, mmohut and other random.

I watch a lot of videos. Generally the gameplay vids of most of the hyped games.

And ofc ...who can stop watching all the BF3 and Skyrim vids out there
