Fast Downloads but very slow browsing speed?

Hey guys,need your help.

I have an Iqara night angel plan (256Kb/s).
The internet connection is through a Motorola Surfboard 5100 cable modem connected to the system through a USB connection.I use XP+SP2,Zone Alarm and AVG 7.

The problem is,while using BitComet,i get a speed of 25KB/s and ~29.8KB/s using Internet Download Manager(verifide this with DU Meter).

But when I use Opera/FF/IE,I only get a max speed of about 5-6KB/s.I tried testing my speed with DSL Reports which gave me a speed of 15KB/s.

1.I incresed the max TCP connections from the default 10 to 50
2.Use Zone Alarm
3.Use Fastcache for DNS cacheing.

This seems to be a DNS problem.. there is nothing much that one can do.. But my suggestion would be to try a software called Treewalk

try using free dns servers and see if tht works 4 ya..
