Since i am off my all work for next 1 yr, planning to start a new biz :D :D

I am looking to target a Idli & Dosa shop, which is just 3 shop away from me, who generally does biz of 10-15k daily :O :O

Earlier, my plan was to open Donear or Raymond store, but seeing cut-throat online competition, and margins being offered, i think my own Fast food biz might provide much more profit :):)

Throw some ideas like, which all fast food are easy to make, less chance of food getting soiled, easy to manage. Mostly i am planning to target Indian cuisines, since already we have several dominos, pizza hut, kfc in my area, along with others :)

i am looking into budget of 15-20L

Best bet is to start a stall also called thela or rehri. Have seen them to do much better business. Or you can also try something like a truck which serves mainly chinese but other delicacies as well. Seen them do very well in Delhi.

yeah my idea is that only, offer standardized food in shop, and offer other things in thela in front of store, my store has got a big front with loads of parking space :D

Come to Kolkata and learn how to make kathi rolls. If no one in your city is selling it, it will sell like wildfire. Do some promotion on Zomato and you are good to go. Hope you have no issue with non-veg. Egg rolls and Chicken rolls sell the fastest.

If your area has KFC, Pizzahut etc, it must be a well to do area. You can try out Lebanese food too. Shawarma rolls are high end and should sell pretty well. Much cheaper than Pizza/KFC/McD but much more filling.

In Pune, in Aundh area, there is a Van which comes there every evening (Burger Hut) and sellers Burgers and fries and such things. Damn awesome burgers.
You can start something on similar lines.

Tea shops in Hyderabad make lot of money. We spoke to the regular stall we go and he says, his boss makes 5k per day, excluding all expenses.[DOUBLEPOST=1413196395][/DOUBLEPOST]In fact, any small food business, if you are serious, it works :). But to get profits you need to be tasty and cheap. For that you should do some fraud in it.Hence a risky business IMO.

Thats true, know a couple of chai stall owners who make tons of money. Location plays a very important role in making a business like this a success.

Meaning?

I meant , use low quality ingredients, sell the left overs, have the cheapest items on buffet menu etc.

I am pretty sure most roadside vendors do that. You would see empty AMUL butter boxes stacked in thela of a Pav Bhaji wala but I am not sure whether the butter he is using is actually amul butter.
In Dadar, outside Vidyalankar classes, there used to be (not sure if now, 10 Years ago ka baat hai) famous sandwich wala. He will put oddles of butter on your sandwich and give more if you request it. He would also stack amul butter boxes. But once I saw in his bag and the actual butter he was having design exactly same as amul boxes but it was written "Rahul Butter".

Customers easily notice when roadside vendors start using leftovers and use cheap products, this might make good money for some time but it is not good for the long run or atleast thats what i have noticed.

why you want to kill people with fastfood? why not try something like yum-cha

15k per day for a hotel is too less IMO. Provided the area you described being bit well do.

In Trivandrum, areas like that pull in minimum 50k. I personally know places that pull in 1.5L per day. If you want google "Zam Zam Trivandrum". Thats the hotel name
