Hey,

Do you guys actually use the "Similar Threads" feature at the bottom of the page?

If yes, do you use it regularly and do you think it is a essential tool which helps in making your browsing experience better on TE.

I am asking this cause, if you don't use it at all or much then i will turn it off. Its pretty hefty on server and we can save some resources by turning it off.

Adding a poll, make your choice.

Future course of action is based on the Feedback you guys provide.

actually i use that all the time, easy to spot if something has already been posted before...

If i want to check if the topic has been posted before, i just use search.

Well mostly I don't see it- it is too far down at the bottom where it will not be seen.

Also, very often the results are not relevant. Just look at the similar threads listed for this one - anything with thread mentioned in it seems to have been listed.

Problem 1 can be solved easily - move the similar threads box to above the "currently active users ..." box. Then it will be much more visible.

Problem 2 suggests that the damned thing should just be removed

P.S. isn't there some way for you to put a counter in, and profile the usage? Just for a short time (few days), so that you can get an actual numerical idea of the usage.

Hell Yeah ! I use This Feature alot ! Its Really HelpFul I Think ! And as Batli said sometimes I Find Interesting Threads That I missed Before ! so Plz dont Disable This Feature !

Used it a couple of times, but mostly the results that come up are irrelevant. And sometimes when they are similiar threads like when you are on the thread about pricing, it will come up with stuff that is relevant, but 6 months old, so ultimately not useful. Something that can be done away with

nope i do not find this feature much of use as the results sometimes irrelevant i would like to use the search feature more.
