I've used it on some other forums and find it really helpful.

New Replies to your posts

Sometimes we just post in many sections and its difficult to keep track of where you should look in to post. I Dont know if vb default supports this feature, however SMF does. Should not be very difficult to implement

thanks :)

you mean a notification for the replies for the threads where u have posted rite?

I usually keep track of these threads by notification via mail. i find it easy to keep track that way (been using this feature since the day i joined here, its the subscribe).

Not via mail :P Consider the number of annoying mails you keep getting someone bumps a thread after a month of no posting where an average thread lives for 1 day or 2.

Consider I log on in evening and want to check who all have replied to me since last time i was on (morning). Now this is different from New Posts, As I want to check only the threads i have posted in.

As Saiyan mentioned, you can Subscribe to the threads you reply to. While posting a reply (Advanced Only), in the "Thread Subscription" option, select "No email Notification" as the notification type. Now whenever you login to TE, you can keep track of your subscribed threads simply by clicking on the User CP link. It will show you a list of Subscribed Threads and their current status. By following this method, you won't receive any annoying e-mails as well.

I hope this helps.

Thanks but I'm aware of these features. Doesn't the subscribe feature list all threads I've been part of or have subscribed to?

Add this link to your bookmark toolbar (in firefox) TechEnclave . Guess everything is solved now

lol...not that easy ;). Apex, please try SMF if you get a moment, or just to understand what I'm requesting. It doesn't need subscription. It will list something like New Posts does, but filtering by my id thus showing threads only which I've been part of.

yes i have seen that view my posts option at a few sites and find it useful. till then arya try clicking your username in any post you make and click find all posts by <username> it should list all your old posts and the ones with new replies will be in bold / have a diff icon.

thanks for the tip. however the format of New Posts will look much better, as its less cluttered when i'm looking for others post, not mine :)
