Fifa 11 "application configuration error"

This type of error occurs when you dont have the correct VC++ runtime side by side libraries. :S
probably the guys who built the installer are morons who did not handle this issue.
how to fix it:
1. download a good text editor like notepad++
2. open the fifa.exe in notepad++ and search for "manifest". you should find something like below.
now you have to check if you have exact same version of libraries in the c:\windows\winsxs folder or the folder where you have fifa.exe
if you dont have the exact versions then you might have to update the visual studio runtime. if you have windows updates they would update automatically.
ideally you should find a visual c++ runtime redistributable in the fifa installation dvd itself.
