They are not difficult to drive. I have been using the HD599 with the Sonata HD pro but mainly for use with my phone and sometimes with PC.

I dont have experience with any other dac/amp so cant say which one will be better for use with a desktop.

Review of Sonata HD pro
(Internals of Hidizs s8 and Sonata hd pro are the same)
