File sharing in lan...?

Well can any1 help me...tell me a software tht allows sharing files on lan...

but it should be a client server software...
i.e 1 pc runs as a server and other people connect ro each other thru it..

Borgchat and similar programs do no work like so....

Any idea of such a software?

yea DC++ is the best . but its difficult to find out the hubs in ur lan. anyone got any way to find hubs in lan?? ... i tried looking for standard dc++ port 411 thru ip scanner but still get no results even if the hubs are running.

actually i should tell u this...tht we cant ping each others pc...we can ping the server pc only....so we are looking for a software to run on server pc tht acts as a Server for our lan chat and file trasnfer...we working as clients....

lanster etc are gr8 progs but not of any use 2 me asi cant ping the pcs on my lan
other than the server pc

though waste seems to be wht i want...lemme check it up...:)

tell me if im in the same situation as u are.

im trying to connect two computers via a crossover cable.
im able to ping pc2 from pc1 but not the either way round. so the 'server' that ur talking abt is 'pc1' in my case?

frnds, wat does the above case suggest. anything wrong with pc2? is there any way to transfer files between the two comps?

icefusion, tell me how it worked out for u

Have been using DC++ for quiet sometime and it looks ok....No roblems so far....

is ur LAN is Sharing Mode?.....delete it and create it Again and giove Full access
