Guys I am currently I am in final year of BE, computer science. I am thinking to do project on Cloud Computing using Google App Engine. It is :

Google App Engine (often referred to as GAE or simply App Engine, and also used by the acronym GAE/J) is a cloud computing platform for developing and hosting web applications in Google-managed data centers.

Few examples of GAE apps are

I will be doing something similar, but I am not sure it is considered as final year BE project. Please share your thoughts :)

I was thinking about doing a very similar topic for my BE final year project. But some other group had already picked it up so I'm now doing a project based on CUDA. :D

Yes it can be considered for a final year project. It is a decent project to work on.

^wow, nice to know man ! Actually I was doing my own project on iOS but buggers rejected it simply [ autonomous insti, no questions should be asked :| ]

Actually my question was don't these projects look naive / simple ? see this - http://sdmcetcon1.appspot.com/

I have no knowledge regrading this, that's why I am asking. I got my project rejected already, now I want to play safe.

and tell me more about CUDA ;)

It does look simple. But I have seen people doing way more lame projects. :|

I'm doing a simple project as well. :P I will be using CUDA to make programs for a couple of known encryption algorithms. I will compare the performance with normal CPU computation and show how using GPU in such cases performs better.

Well I went through site Cloud Computing Portal for SMEs

From their site, I understood that they have made Database Clusters, Application Server Cluster and deployed 3 of their applications on them. They also deployed one of the applications on GAE and another one on Azure. They also used LDAP for user authentication in their applications.

Well as per my knowledge, you can build J2EE applications and deploy on GAE. The tutorials are there on internet which will help you to get started. Only thing is that GAE uses High Replication Datastore which does not uses SQL for interaction. So you have to use their API's which is kinda PITA at the beginning but you will get used to it.

^Guys thank you for replying :)

GAE is interesting, hope I will be able pursue my teachers this time ;)

^^ real genius on cloud computing. Have to take up some tuitions from him.

SIM card ka data battery mein chala jaata hai

cloud se baarish hoti hai
