Got the Xigmatek S1283 and 2 AC Accelero S1 for the gfx cards, a couple of days back; :D

XIGMATEK

First Impressions of the XS1283:

1. Light-weight compared to the TRUE I'd used before; :D

2. Bundled fan does a pretty decent job; rated at 90CFM;

3. Installation is a royal PITA with push-pins; :(

4. Had to install the fan with zip-ties tied diagonally cos the supplied anti-vibration rubber thing got damaged; it just wouldn't go through those holes in the fan :(

5. Could easily clock 4G at <39'C idle and 46'C loads; :D

A review abt the S1283 shall be put up soon;

Sorry for no pics being put up; cant upload from my workplace; :(

Finally, I guess my system's set; need to mod the side-panel and do a better paint job later on; :D

Congrats ...I couldn't have seen any pics even if u had posted thm because of websense :bleh:....

When did u sell ur tru.... if still available PM me....

Actually u can slap a fan of 25mm thickness on the S1 and still have the 2nd card CF'ed but leaving almost 1mm gap b/w the 2nd card and the fan; :ashamed:

The fan on the 2nd card will leave a gap of 2mm gap from the PSU beneath; :D

Yet to slap these S1s; have to get those precision philips screw-drivers; :p

But the S1283 is just awsum; miles ahead of TRUE in terms of weight and base finish of those copper tubes; :D

^^Yeah true;

Yet to install it; lets see what happens;

Cos if M not mistaken, howsoever less the gap maybe, the fans can still draw some air which can be directed from the side panel intake directly facing them;

Better than running them passive right??? Except for the zero noise factor; :)

But these stock coolers're screaming like hair-dryers; :ashamed:

you could do a ghetto cable tie job..

some how tie up one fan the the end of the cards... like this

when ya open the cabby nd are staring at the mobo wid cards mounted.

_____

_____||

where _____ = gfx nd || = fan..

sheesh.. wat a way to explain :p

Yeah cable ties would only work for these fans; :p

Got that point of urs; nice explanation; :D

You shud have got the HR03s instead. mount the top one facing upward, below one facing downward. lots of room n airflow.

This was one reason why I sold off the S1 I bought. With 25mm fans, the thing took 4 PCI slots, and I had a soundcard as well. IMHO stalkers idea wont work. too less clearance and lots of air leakage. unless you tape up the gap between the 2 cards with some duct tape.

No thanx; :)

I'd even thought of the Zalman VF1000 which does an almost ~ job like the HR03GT at 2.5k each;
The TR HR03GT at 2.6k each + additional expense for fans aint worth it; period;

And what abt the fan for the 2nd one below?? Where'll I mount one?? Or running it passive?? No ways; :p

Lol, I'd thought of almost all the ways before I'd zeroed down for the S1s;

I'm a noob at these coolers n shit nayways.

Or you can get 3 60x10 fans per card. or any 80x10 or 92x10 fans too.

Tying to the hdd cage might work too as it is not all that way off. If I am not wrong you already have it that way.

Yeah the first part explains it perhaps; :p

10mm fans [esp for 92mm ones] are a rare find unless I take up ur role and hunt for some of them; :p

Hmmm yeah and since I have just one drive now, tying a 38mm fan there4 should help; :)

Right now, I dont have that configuration;

1mm nd 2mm wil seriously mess up with the airflow in that case...
the fans will have a tough time getting fresh air man.
