SO, people , FINALLY, the wait is over and the rumors are true yet again.. Flaunting an Aluminium casing, both Desire hd and Desire z have been launched at the HTC's event in LONDON today..
Going through the forums, i know many of us have been waiting for this phone, which seems to be a PERFECT phone (as of now) in the market..that 4.3 inch screen, sturdy metal construction. Android 2.2..:hap2:.Hell yeah..i sure am EXCITED to lay hands on this Beast in a couple of months..:ohyeah:

Also, HTC unveils cloud backup using htcsense.com..the UI and the friendliness of the Htc sense is going to improve further flaunting pre- cached maps, cloud sync, sending messages to your phone's screen from your pc etc..:cool2:

Just wanted to do a heat check as to who all among us are excited to lay hands on these pieces...????
I AM...:hap2:

Well..... Problem is availability in India......

I still havent received a BLACK Desire...... My friend is waiting for a Wildfire & the HTC Dealers keep saying that it would be available in next 15 days......

:(

I heard something going on with the WHITE desire as well...i saw it on Engadget that a white coloured Desire is also under production.

And i think so that the Desire HD should be available in india around november..But the problem is that it would be priced really high like the HD2 was last year...Guess, we'll have to wait and see...

Its 2.1 as of now, not 2.2.

Froyo will come in firmware update AFAIK.

And IMO, 4.3" is too huge. I don't like it at all. 3.7 - 4" is perfect.

@superfrag..i went by the rumors, wherein it was being said that it would have froyo from the beginning. I still expect that to happen at the time of retail since desire and evo are running on 2.2 now..

Secondly, yea, even i used to think that 3.7 -4 are pretty handy..But large screens are like ADDICTION..Once, you've used it, trust me you never want to go back to a smaller screen...iv seen htc hd2 and used it for a while, it was as handy as my x10..Infact, i liked it being a bit wider; Landscape modes are a dream to use.

of course I am super excited and I liked the way HTC crashed N8 party :) now, everyone is talking about SGS getting 2.2 and new HTC phones :)

Yes, my bad, both will have 2.2. Although some sites are still saying that the Desire Z will release with 2.1, and 2.2 will follow in an update, which honestly doesn't make sense, since the US version, the G2 will have 2.2 (although stock experience)

I think HTC will take quite some time for these phones to hit India, only way is grey market/import.

The G2 has stock froyo. The Desire probably requires additional work from HTC to get froyo customized for sense. Seems to make complete sense to me

Any news on the cloud services for existing sense models?? I am looking to get a desire, but dont want to end up feeling disappointed within a couple of weeks if those new services are only for Desire HD and the Z.

Also no mention of whether the service is paid or free.. :(

Availability
The new HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z will be broadly available through mobile operators and retailers across major European and Asian markets from October 2010 with the HTC Desire Z shipping in North America later this year.

I really hope they don't delay the launch in India like they did with the Desire.

Actually HTC did not crash any party and if anything, they just banked on Nokia's event to get people to their own event. Although not very nice, its a pretty common strategy to use. If they hadn't scheduled their event independently, they would not get that many people to their event.

I want a phone not a freaking tablet .A BIG NO to Evo
Sir, a phone would be too small for you :P

Desire HD looks good but as usual the questions are when is HTC going to officially launch it in india and whats the price gonna be. I suspect 34-35k if the desire is anything to go by
