Firefox 3.5.1 not installing extensions anymore

Some strange problem I am facing on on portable FF v 3.5.1

I have many extensions installed & working fine. I installed foxyproxy it

downloaded & installed & restarted the browser but it does not show the

extension in the list. (older extension show & working fine)

Just for testing I installed another few extension they also don't work & show in the list.

Whats happening??

I am an old user of portable FF never faced such issue.

Extension issues:

Extensions installed under Firefox 3 may be incompatible and/or require updates to work with Firefox 3.5. Please report any issues to the maintainer of the extension. When you install Firefox 3.5 all of your Extensions and Themes will be disabled until Firefox 3.5 determines that either a) they are compatible with the Firefox 3.5 release or b) there are newer versions available that are compatible.

That's not the case, foxyproxy is very much updated & compatible with 3.5.1

I also have tried installing few more extensions but they fail to show up in the list

I also tried deleted the extension cache & other extension related folders but even then its not letting me install extensions.

Never faced such problem with 4 yrs of using FF.
