Firefox 3.6.15 freezes a bit while opening new tabs, have any of you guys experienced the same ? Any remedies ? :S

It occurs when I type the site name and then middle-click the "go" arrow. Its here that the browser freezes for 3 seconds and then it runs.

as I start typing the address, sometimes, there is a bit of freezing as firefox searches for

earlier typed address / bookmarks (eg.) . may be you can prevent your firefox freezing

by pressing Enter key instead of using mouse click to go !!

I have noticed this as well. Though it happens rarely, it does happen.

No known remedies as of now...

Waiting for Firefox 4... ;)

Thank god, I am not the only one facing similar problems with it. I was wondering may be some OS glitch.

Glad to know its FF issue. :)

@seshu.. no i dont get freezing when searching through already surfed websites. Its only during a particular stroke.I use middle mouse click so that the site opens in a different tab and not in the same.Even tried hitting enter, same result.About 1-2 seconds of freezing.Damn irritating. :(

Lol yeah it freezes when i open a website or launch firefox tabs etc , i also thought problem was with my OS :P as its long time since i did not format

Try the below fix for the freezing problem

1. Open firefox and in the address bar type in "about:config"

2. click on the button 'I ll be careful, i promise"

3. use the search bar located on the page to look for the 'network.http.pipelining' and double click on it to set its value to 'True'

4. create a new Boolean value named 'network.http.pipelining.firstrequest' and set that to 'True, as well.

5. Find 'network.http.pipelining.maxrequests' and double click on it. Then change its value to '8'

6. look for the network.http.proxy.pipelining' and set it to 'True'

7. create two new integers named 'nglayout.initialpaint.delay' andd 'content.notify.interval'; set them to '0'

8.now, restart your browser to experience the difference
