Firefox gone NUTS!!! Need help!

My FF does the same thing, it is a very bad peice of software !!!

It wil always do so. all other browsers are better with regards to memory managment than FF.

Learn to live with it, or stop using it :)

Firefox saves the last 50 visited websites of a single session in memory which means that it could add up quickly if you visit lots of content filled websites

Type about:config in the Firefox address bar and search for the term:

browser.sessionhistory.max_entries

Right-click the entry, select modify from the list and change it to a lower value. set it to 5 .

I installed the x64 version of firefox 4, helped, reduced to around 300MB.

^I'd made those changes quite a while back, they don't seem to be helping much. But they did solve the problem of firefox remaining in memory even when closed.
