Firefox Questions.

Im new to firefox and just downloaded it yesterday. Ive been using it since yesterday and have been very pleased with the overall experience.

I have a couple questions.

Which version are you people using? US or BR? Ive downloaded BR but then a lot of sites like facebook have asked whether i want to change the lanuage from EN-US to EN-BR.

Which are the essential add ons for you people?

When i type something on the navi bar, the drop down results also show entries from within websites which i dont want. How do i get rid of that? Example: If I types say "steve vai tender surrender" in youtube and click search and later just type surrender in the FF navi bar, the drop down results show that page.

version 3.0.5 is the latest there is nothing such as us or br(I think u r asking abt from where we hv dled).

There are many useful add ons like piclens which turns images into a 3d gallery then there is foxyproxy for anonymous surfing.Adblock plus for blocking annoying ads on websites.

Why would you want the Brazilian version? You speak Portuguese?

@ above , i think he meant GB which is british english

1) Both are almost same , British or American English

2) Type about:config in the address bar and set browser.urlbar.matchonlytyped to True.

3) I use adblock plus , fotofox , autopager , greasemonkey , yapta ,WOT , cooliris

BR is probably brazilian/portuguese

You need English(US) aka EN_US or English(British) aka EN_GB...

Re-download and reinstall...

yes i meant US english or british english. both these options are there on the FF homepage. was just curious about what everyone is using.

ive downloaded GB. I wrote BR by mistake. meant to type GB.

one more thing. how do i get a new tab to open the homepage instead of a blank page.

go to Tools -> Options. Click Main. Go to Startup section and go to When Firefox Starts and click Show My Home Page. then go to the Home Page and type the URL of the website which u want to b opened as ur home page when u start Firefox. As for the Addons there are so many addons that i would b tired typing all of them...so i m posting the screenshots of the addons that i use....





These are just some of the addons that i use and there are so many out there that re waiting to be tried out and everyday new ones are also coming in...basicallly the addons that u use depends on u use internet for ur needs..downloading...sharing etc...

^^i already have my homepage configured. i meant, when i open a NEW tab, i want it to load the howpage and not a blank page. when i start FF, yes my homepage opens on that tab.

To disable the Awesome Bar....

Type about:config into the address bar & select "I'll be carefull"

Then search for this browser.urlbar.maxRichResults

Double click & put -1 there....

Close the tab & restart Firefox.

Awesome bar is now disabled....
