ATI still has to announce its FireGL card based on R520 core. It's under development and it's down the road already but ATI is still waiting for the big partners to announce its designs. ATI is also tweaking its drivers as it made some brake true in OpenGL performance and this surely can affect professional drivers as well.
In workstation business you have to wait for your customers to release its designs as most of these cards is sold in systems so you want to wait for HP and similar company to release something with your card side.
ATI will obviously look at R580 version on professional card but that is still way down the road.
