First Time iPad user - Help getting Netflix

So I made an ill-considered move to pick up what I thought was a value deal by buying a 2nd hand iPad Pro 9.7" when vacationing in UAE. My idea was to have a cheap reliable tablet for media consumption on the go. So imagine my disappointment when the device simply could not install Netflix as I am limited to iPadOS 16.7 and the app needs 17 or better!

So here is where I have reached in my investigation to go past this pesky roadblock -
  1. find a user who is on the India version of the app store, running iPadOS 17 or higher.
  2. have them log my account in on their device and Get the app.
  3. sign me out of their device
  4. I login again and restore the appropriate version for my antique iPad. Profit?
Is there any kind soul willing to indulge me on this experiment? Thank you for reading!

Correct me if wrong but the user's App Store country won't matter. AFAIK, they must log out of their account and sign in using yours (since iPad doesn't allow multiple login). At which point, App Store will be the same country as your account.

Was trying to reduce one wrinkle. I tried to change my country to USA and have my sister add me to a family sharing mode + purchase sharing etc. to no avail... Hence trying this.
